Who are we? A non-profit, 501(c)3 charitable organization

What do we do? Provide tangible support to at-risk mothers and children by supplying nutritious meals, clothing & self-care necessities, as well as other means of support to ensure that basic needs are met

Where are we located? Summer’s Sunshine is based in Northern Virginia.

Who do we serve? Currently, support is limited to residents of Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC.

Summer’s Sunshine is committed to putting food in bellies, clothes on backs, and delivering basic infant and childcare necessities to mothers and young children in need. Disadvantaged mothers and youth are a vulnerable population with compromised access to essentials that are needed to sustain life and baseline stability. We find this unacceptable and are dedicated to fulfilling unmet needs with dignity, love, and light.

Summer’s Sunshine believes no child should go hungry, no child should be unclothed, no infant’s life should be at risk due unmet basic needs, and no mother should carry the burden of worrying about how she will keep herself and her children alive. We pledge to feed, clothe, and provide other means of tangible support that enables mothers and children to focus on what really matters: Thriving.

The purpose of this organization is to fulfill the unmet needs of disadvantaged mothers and young children by providing no-cost, tangible essentials such as, but not limited to, food, clothing, toiletries, and newborn/childcare necessities to support the survival, well-being, and stability of this vulnerable population. Through our charitable activities activities, this organization intends to fill gaps that often exist in underserved and under-resourced communities between the target population and their access to adequate nutrition, clothing, and safe living conditions due to, but not limited to, financial, physical, and/or social constraints
